Makes Sight Staking Easier

Makes front sight staking effortless, faster and far more accurate. Improved, offset punch design efficiently directs the full force of the hammer blow downward against the sight tenon. Hardened, "V"-shaped tip easily displaces both wide and narrow tenons for a great-looking, tight-fitting front sight that won't shoot loose. Large, square shaft is easier to hold, see and hit so there's less chance of a missed hammer blow striking your customer's expensive slide.

SPECS: Steel, blued. 5/16" (7.9mm) x ½" (12.7mm) x 4½" (11.4cm) long shaft. Replaceable, hardened steel tip. Fits 1911 Auto. Includes complete instructions.

Hace mira delantera vigilando mucho más precisa, rápida y sin esfuerzo. Diseño mejorado, offset ponche eficientemente dirige toda la fuerza del golpe martillo hacia abajo contra la espiga de la vista. Punta endurecida, en forma de "V" desplaza fácilmente tanto amplia y estrechas espigas para una vista frontal impecables, ajustada al cuerpo que no dispara flojo. Eje grande, cuadrado es más fácil de mantener, para ver y así hay menos posibilidades de un golpe de martillo perdidas sorprendente diapositiva costoso de su cliente.

A necessary 1911 tool (12/03/2010)

If the directions are followed this is the best sight tool I have used for both narrow & wide tenon sights. I have also used it to stipple the dovetail of rear sights for a secure fit.

Valuable tool (27/05/2010)

Excellent product, does a very good job staking 1911 front sight tenons. Strong and easy to use and you can rotate the point to vary your impression.

Only problem I had was the set screw which hold in the point kept loosening and the tip falling out after a few hammer strikes. However I can work with that to have the ability to rotate the point. I ordered an addiitional tip in case I lost the one that came with it, which I did.

This tool worked flawlessly for stakeing the front sight on my Colt 1911M1A.

Although I think the price was a little steep for this tool, it is the right tool for the job if you are staking a front sight into the slide of a 1911.

The only problem I had with the tool was that the allen set screw would not hold the tip tight and I had to be careful not to loose it while staking a sight. 4 stars only because of the loose tip.

"Use the right tool for the job at hand!!"

As a 1911 Specialist, this tool combined with (080-000-454), produced excellent results for both of the 1911 front sighs I installed for clients. The installation went smoothly. The second sight installation turned out better than the first one.

The staking nipple did come out once or twice, but over all that is/was a minor setback of the tool!!

Works As Discribed!!! (04/10/2014)

Using the staking tool was easier than what I thought. A drill press vise would have helped, since you need something solid and firm under the front sight. It also frees up both hands. Start at the back of the tenon, work your way to the front.Turn the tip 90 degrees and work back to front again. Work the tenon until it is properly flared. Use a Dremel to grind the tenon down just enough for proper bushing installation. This was my first time at staking a front sight. Watched YouTube first. Great results.

Works nicely. I use Black Max adhesive under under the sight. Clamp as pictured to hold everything steady. Then use little taps to slowly swage the tennon. -So easy with the correct tool.
