Increasingly, many rifles and AR-style pistols on the market are using AR buffer tubes for stock attachments, allowing consumers to access the incredibly large aftermarket of AR-style buttstocks. However, since these guns do not require the buffer tube for operation, like a standard AR-15, KNS Precision provides its AR-15/MCX Picatinny Stock Adapters as an alternative. This setup allows for the use of folding stocks, enabling owners to shorten the length of their guns. Each KNS Precision AR-15/MCX Picatinny Stock Adapter ships with two separate components, along with a bolt that secures the unit into place. An included adapter plug threads into the buffer socket on an AR's lower receiver, and the Picatinny-rail section attaches to the plug with the included bolt. The all-black unit is machined entirely from aluminum. Three models of the KNS Precision AR-15/MCX Picatinny Stock Adapter are available, one without a flange and two flange-equipped models of different lengths. The flange-equipped versions are designed for firearms that require the use of the takedown pin, detent and spring found on AR-15 lower receivers. Note: this adapter will not allow for functioning on standard-configuration AR-15s that require the use of a buffer and buffer spring.
