The RCBS swage die is an affordable solution to swaging the primer pocket of crimped brass using your existing single stage press. The metal finish on this tool by RCBS seems low quality but the parts feel solid and are functional in their purpose. In order for the complete tool to work as designed, your press must have a ram smaller than 1" in diameter within 0.75" of the top of a shellholder. There is an upside down cup for case removal which is made to fit between the swager and case. If your ram is larger, you will have to use a screwdriver to remove the case from the swager which slows down the process.

This thing is a life saver. When you get those pesky military brass pieces that have the crimped primers and you don't want to ream them out by hand, this comes in handy like there is no tomorrow. It takes the standard die threads, and mounts on to the press. You need to adjust the stem to adjust the pressure according to the brass. You will need to do this for each headstamp because each company has different thickness. Run them through and you have to slam it down on the downstroke, but that kicks the shell off and you mount the next one. The one complaint is that this is not made for presses other than RCBS that I can tell. I don't have an RCBS press (Lyman and Lee) and this does work, but it's a little off for the Lyman, and the Lee (breechlock) needed modification for it to work. The reason for the modification is because the sleeve that slides over the ram (ejects the shell on the downstroke) has to have a flat surface to be on to work properly. My Lyman has a small hump (casting seam?) and it throws it a bit off balance. It still works, but can be a pain sometimes. However, the concept is excellent and works great.
